Rodrigo Ohtake Collection + Granistone a Rocha

Graduated as an Architect and Urban Planner at FAU/USP in 2009, with a period of study at the Polytechnic of Milan, Rodrigo Ohtake collaborated with architects Mario Biselli, Alvaro Puntoni and French designer Patrick Jouin, in addition to working with his father, Ruy Ohtake, from 2008 to 2017.
In 2022, he founded the OHTAKE office, the result of the merger between Ruy Ohtake architecture and urbanism and Rodrigo Ohtake architecture and design. A multidisciplinary studio focused on architecture, design, urbanism, and new construction and materials technologies.
RODRIGO OHTAKE + GRANISTONE

Rodrigo Ohtake's collection for Granistone is born from the intersection of contemporary signature design and the exuberance of Brazilian natural stones. Using solid blocks of Amazonite, Capolavoro, and Speranza—stones of immense aesthetic value and 100% Brazilian origin—the pieces test the boundaries between weight and lightness, solidity and fluidity, rigor and apparent instability.
The curves, twists, and asymmetrical geometries reveal a close attention to the raw material: Rodrigo Ohtake doesn't impose forms on the stone; he negotiates with it. The mineral's hardness gives way to sculptability, allowing the designer to explore visually delicate structures with technical solutions as bold as they are elegant.
